30 April celebrated nationally on the occasion of the Persian Gulf Day

Tehran (IP) - On the occasion of the Persian Gulf Day, celebrated annually on 30 April, the deputy of the international institute of Persian Gulf studies said that Arabs have called the Persian Gulf 'Arabian' to distract thoughts from occupying Palestine.

Iran PressIran News:  The deputy of the international institute of Persian Gulf studies Masoud Rezaei referred to the historical background of the name ‘Persian Gulf’, saying: “It has been called the Persian Gulf in almost all documents and ancient texts which exist in Iran, England and Portugal.”

Masoud Rezaei went on to add that in three different reports on 15 March 1971,10 January 1990 and 2006, the United Nations has announced the legal validity of the term “Persian Gulf” for this region.

The commemoration of the Persian Gulf National Day was held today at the Army's University of Command and Staff in Tehran, attended by professors and top Iran’s Army officials.

Masoud Rezaei concluded his remarks by saying that it is the country's duty to increase activities in international scenes to defend the name “Persian Gulf”.

Persian Gulf Day is a very important day for the Iranian people and it is celebrated annually on 30 April. It has taken place every year since 2004 and is marked with various ceremonies in Iran, especially in the coastal cities of the Persian Gulf.
