Iran Press/ Iran News: In a phone conversation with the Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh on Friday, Hassan Rouhani referred to the government's progress in economic programs in the past year without relying on oil revenues, saying: "Accelerating the Ministry of Petroleum's plans to increase the production of petroleum products and preventing the sale of crude oil can minimize the damage of the severe fluctuations in the global market and drop of oil prices on Iran's economy."
Iran's President called the current year as the year of preparation and operation of major construction and infrastructure projects in the country and urged the Minister of Petroleum to plan in such a way that the country's major oil projects become operational on time.
Bijan Zangeneh also presented a report on the progress of Iran's oil projects, the global oil market and oil trade with countries around the world.
International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted a 1.5% improvement in Iran’s economic growth for 2020 compared to 2019, amid the outbreak of coronavirus, while it said 'worst recession since Great Depression' is likely to happen in the world.
