Iran Press/ Iran news: In a meeting with the Army Chief Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi on Thursday, Major General Mohammad Bagheri commemorated the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army Day, saying: "In addition to maintaining its defense readiness, Iran's Army has come to aid the health of Iranian people with all its might".
The head of the General Staff of Iran's Armed Forces reiterated that Army forces, along with medical staff have made efforts to protect the health of the Iranian nation by treating patients in army hospitals, disinfecting roads, cities, and towns, as well as controlling traffic on the roads during the period of traffic restrictions.
Army Chief Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi referred to the implementation of the 'Faithful Help' exercise to help those in need in society during the holy month of Ramadhan, saying: "The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to assist the Iranian people throughout the country, with the cooperation of supportive institutions, by deploying manpower and equipment."
On April 18, 1979, the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini named the occasion as Army Day.
Every year commemorative parades are held across the country on the occasion of Army Day but this year the parades have been canceled due to the Coronavirus concerns.
Instead, an alternative plan called 'Service Parade' will be held across the country under the motto of 'Defenders of the Homeland and Health Assistants'.
