Revealing Trump disregard for warnings about COVID-19

Tehran (IP) - Criticism of the Trump administration's efforts to prevent and control the Coronavirus is growing sharply as the number of victims of COVID-19 disease in the United States rises and economic indicators fall.

Iran PressAmerica: The New York Times, in a detailed article written by six journalists using credible documents and interviews with informed individuals, revealed that US Secretary of Health Alex Azar had repeatedly warned President Donald Trump of the Corona threat, weeks before he actually took action to prevent the virus from spreading.

However, this trend was delayed for several weeks. In fact, until March 13, Trump did not officially announce the threat posed by the Coronavirus, and it was then that he decided to declare a state of emergency. The White House has since implemented recommendations for a social distancing plan for the United States; a plan that was recently extended until the end of April 2020.

The revelation in an important US newspaper once again confirms critics' views on Trump's disregard for warnings about Corona's approach and the need to take steps to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in the United States.

It is estimated that more than two million people in the United States may be victims of the virus as a result of the Trump administration's negligence over Corona, and the country's economy is experiencing its most unprecedented recession in history but Trump ignored warnings from government officials, naively comparing Corona to traffic accidents and influenza, denying the need for national action to deal with Corona at the outbreak of the COVID-19 disease in the United States.

Trump seems more concerned about the negative vote of the American people in the November 2020 presidential election than about the American people.

Dr. Bandly Lee, president of the World Mental Health Coalition in the United States, wrote in an article on the Hill that Donald Trump is a threat to public health around the world, and we suggest that he be fired from the presidency and removed from all authority in combating pandemic.

The United States, with more than 587,000 Coronavirus cases and 23,649 deaths, has topped the list, both in terms of the number of infected patients and the number of deaths.
