Iran Press/ Iran News: Russian foreign ministry said in a statement: "Given the Corona pandemic, the United Nations Charter defenders' Group, whose members include Russia, Iran, Venezuela, China, North Korea, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Syria, sent a joint letter to the UN Secretary-General António Guterres calling for the immediate and complete lifting of unilateral sanctions against Iran. The sanctions impede the countries' efforts to fight the Corona epidemic effectively.
"The Security Council's regime of sanctions have foreseen the elimination of humanitarian goods from the sanctions list", the statement said.
"These mechanisms had to work and they were not defective due to political considerations in some countries," the statement underscored.
