Tehran (IP) - President Rouhani said the number of patients and deaths due to Coronavirus has been decreased, which is promising.

Iran PressIran NewsHassan Rouhani said on Tuesday at a meeting of National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus: "Receptions in the hospitals in different provinces have been declining and the death toll is showing a downward trend, both of which are very important to us."

He thanked the health system and staff for their efforts and sacrifices, saying: "I thank the people of our country who paid attention to the recommendations and health protocols. Because statistics show that people have paid particular attention to these recommendations."

"No one with COVID-19 disease should be moving around in the country," he added.

Rouhani noted: "All the businesses and gatherings that we had previously announced to be closed until April 1, were approved by the National Task Force to be closed until April 3."

He said educational and academic centers, where there are large crowds, are among the centers that should be closed, adding: "But the supermarkets should be open because they meet the daily needs of the people."

The President said: "We must maintain the appropriate distance of 2 meters, and to ensure that trips and travels come to a minimum."

More than 15,400 people have died from COVID-19 globally. An estimated 100,000 of the 362,000 people who have been diagnosed with the disease across the world have recovered, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University.

According to Iran's Health Ministry, 8,376 people out of a total of 23,049 infected by the coronavirus have recovered across the country while 1,812 have unfortunately succumbed to death.
