Iran Press/Iran News: The Secretariat of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution (SCCR) said in a statement: "In the days when the international community is combating with the Coronavirus, the dementia of extremism and intolerance against Indian Muslims has hurt the feelings of the people of the world."
"India's Muslims, as part of this country that has historically coexisted peacefully with other parts of India, and playing a major role in the history of Indian subcontinent civilization, have reacted to the country's citizenship law in a civil protest, but they faced with the violent and bloody response of extremist Hindus," it noted.
The statement emphasizes that what has been reflected in media is certainly a genocide and a crime against humanity that the UN, Security Council and other international bodies need to take appropriate action by using all their capacity to stop these crimes.
The Indian Citizenship Act was amended on December 11, 2019, and based on the amendment asylum seekers from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Pakistan who entered into India without valid papers before 2015 can obtain citizenship, but based on the law Muslims are not included.
