  • Larijani emphasises preventive measures to combat Coronavirus

Tehran (IP)- Iran's Parliament Speaker, Ali Larijani in a phone call conversation with Health Minister Saeed Namaki received the latest information about two cases infected to Coronavirus in Qom, stressed on taking necessary preventive measures to combat coronavirus outbreak.

Iran Press/Iran News: Also in a separate phone conversation with the Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Mirzaei, Ali Larijani also stressed taking necessary measures to prevent the outbreak of the virus in schools.

Also in a telephone conversation with Qom Governor-General, Bahram Sarmast, the Speaker emphasized the urgent need to convene a meeting and to take preventive decisions as soon as possible, especially by securing public places, schools, and universities in Qom.

The Head of the Information and Public Relations Center of the Ministry of Health Kianoush Jahanpour announced on Wednesday that two people were killed as a result of the coronavirus in Qom.

The coronavirus outbreak that originated from Wuhan, China, has now spread to more than 25 other countries, including the United States, Britain, Australia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Canada, France, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

According to the latest statistics, more than 72,000 people have been infected with the virus in China so far and 2,400 have died.

According to the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, more than 10,600 people have been treated so far. 212/ 104
