Intelligence Minister: Participating in elections has its own messages

Tehran (IP) - Iranian Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi on the sidelines of Wednesday's cabinet session stated that participation in the upcoming parliamentary election sends a message to the world.

Iran Press/Iran news: In response to Iran Press correspondent's question regarding the US accusation against Iran's upcoming parliamentary election, Iranian Intelligence Minister Seyyed Mahmoud Alavi said, "In our country, even if we completely remove the vetting of prospective candidates, the enemies will still claim our election results are predetermined."

He further said, "Taking part in the elections in the Islamic Republic of Iran has its own message for the wider world. A higher turnout at the ballot box reflects a message to the world that the will of the Iranian people is not shaky and people's union with the Islamic Republic of Iran will make them take part in the elections."
