Iranian researchers make biological wound dressing
A group of researchers of the Royan Institute and the University of Tehran have successfully passed the phase of animal testing of biological wound dressing.
Iran Press/ Iran News: "The Royan Research Institute and the University of Tehran have successfully passed the stage of animal testing for the production of biological wound dressing," said Dr. Hamed Daemi, a member of the Institute's faculty.
He added that A team of researchers from the Royan Research Institute, the University of Tehran and the private sector have begun work on the production of biological wound dressing based on aquatics tissues.
"In this process, natural materials from aquatics tissues become primary fibers in a chemical process. These fibers are then woven and eventually become biological wound dressing," he continued.
"These wound dressing are highly used for diabetic and bed wounds and help in wound healing," he said, noting that these bandages are highly absorbent.
