Tehran (IP) - Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami has emphasized that satellite carriers had nothing to do with the missile issue and were a completely non-military and civilian matter.

Iran Press/Iran News: Brigadier General Amir Hatami in an answer to an Iran Press question about the claims of the French Foreign Ministry and the US Secretary of State regarding Iran's space program said: "We may use a satellite for defense purposes, but the satellite carrier is a completely non-defensive subject, and it is our obvious right."

"We are developing this program with strength and there is no prohibition on it in the world," Brigadier General Amir Hatami said on Wednesday.

Hatami added, "Satellites-relate issues and launching of satellites are a clear cut issue and have nothing to do with missile-related subjects which is a military matter."

"On the missile issue, what is forbidden is to build missiles capable of carrying a nuclear warhead that does not exist in Iran and all of our missiles that we are proud of and an important component of defense and military power used with conventional warheads and thank God because their accuracy is very high and Americans witnessed this precision at Ain- al-Assad base in Iraq, so we need nothing else," the minister highlighted.

"We have precise missiles with conventional warheads," he underscored.

"The Simorgh satellite carrier and our satellites are still a topic of research and will continue," Amir Hatami said.
