Iran Press/Iran news: The meeting was held on the occasion of the National Air Force Day and also the 'Ten-Day Dawn' celebrations on Saturday.
On 8 February 1979, just a few days before the Islamic Revolution's victory, Iranian Air Force personnel met with the Father of the Islamic Revolution and the Founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace) to show their solidarity and pledge allegiance to the Imam and the Islamic Revolution.
The event is commemorated every February on the occasion of this historic meeting; a meeting that had a significant role in giving new impetus to the Islamic Revolution.
This event is commemorated every year during the 'Ten-Day Dawn' or 'Ten-Day Fajr' festivities. 'Fajr' is a ten-day celebration on the occasion of Imam Khomeini's return to Iran in 1979.
The ten-day celebration is held annually between 1 -11 February. Its beginning coincides with the arrival of Imam Khomeini and its ending coincides with the victory of the Islamic Revolution on 11 February.
