Tehran (IP) - Iran's First Vice President said that some temporary restrictions are going to be applied following the spread of the Coronavirus in China.

Iran PressIran news: "At the request of the Minister of Health, I organized a special meeting to discuss ways to combat Coronavirus. Expanding and strengthening Iran-China friendly strategic relations has always been and will continue to be important," Eshaq Jahangiri said in a tweet on Friday.

"Applying some temporary restrictions is just for the sake of safeguarding and protecting the health of beloved people of Iran, which is preferred to any subject," he added.

Jahangiri's tweet came in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak worldwide.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared on Thursday that the coronavirus epidemic in China now constitutes a 'public health emergency of international concern'.

The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak stands at 213 inside China and confirmed infections are at 9692 with World Health Organization (WHO) declaring the global public health emergency.

Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyyed Abbas Mousavi said that the whole world should cooperate with the government and people of China to solve the Coronavirus issue.
