Tehran (IP) - Shankar Pamarthy, a member of the jury of the second International Contest of Cartoon and Caricature known as Trumpism, said that cartoons and caricature are the most powerful, popular and contemporary art

Iran Press/Iran news: Shankar Pamarthy made the remarks in an interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of the second International Contest of Cartoon and Caricature known as Trumpism, saying that cartoon and caricature are contemporary art.

He went on to say that so many artists put their idea through the cartoon and caricature and most of them try to draw the portrait of US President Donald Trump as an evil and miserable person because of his policy and dictatorship.

He added that cartoon and caricature are the most powerful media and act as a weapon, so, for this reason, Trump has banned political cartoons in the US.

The closing ceremony of the 2nd Trumpism International Cartoon and Caricature Contest was held on Saturday at Holy Defense Museum in Tehran, Iran, with artists attending from 79 countries.

At the ceremony, the organizer of the event said: "Based on Trump's acts including Islamophobia, terrorism, and human rights violations we organized this gallery which was interesting for foreign artists. In the first contest, 76 foreign artists took part which greatly irritated and angered Western and US mainstream media."
