Tehran (IP) - Head of Leader's representatives at Universities, Mostafa Rostami on Saturday said the presence of foreign military forces in the region, especially American troops, causes insecurity and turmoil.

Iran Press/Iran News: Head of Leader's representatives at Universities Mostafa Rostami in an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Saturday said: "If the world is thinking of global peace and security, it must recognize the roots of insecurity and where they stem from in order to uproot them."

He added: "The root of insecurity in the region lies in the arrival of foreign military forces, especially the Americans, using the false pretext and lame excuse of Saddam's weapons of mass destruction."

Rostami stressed the US presence in the region has resulted in insecurity, displacement, destruction of regional countries as well as the emergence of various terror groups in the region like ISIL (also known as Daesh) who are supported and backed by the United States.

Rostami said the only way to maintain international security and peace is, first of all, to expel all foreign military forces from the region and secondly, to counter terrorism and insecurity by making sure that international organizations get involved.

Rostami's words came on the sidelines of a gathering of university students in front of Tehran University calling for revenge from the Great Satan (United States) for assassination for Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani.

Mostafa Rostami said: "The root of regional insecurity is the foreign forces' intervention and if the international organizations would not step in to keep and maintain security, the people themselves have to do something to safeguard their security and have no alternative but to force the US military to leave the region." 101/211/207
