IRGC: General Soleimani, Muhandis, martyred in US strike on Baghdad airport

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has confirmed that Major General Ghasem Soleimani, the head of the IRGC elite Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a commander in the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) have been martyred in the US strike on Baghdad airport.

Iran PressIran news: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), on Friday, confirmed the reports of the martyrdom of Major General Ghasem Soleimani, the head of the IRGC elite Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a commander in the PMF, the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) reported.

In a statement, IRGC announced that the two commanders have been martyred on Friday during the attack by the US choppers in Baghdad airport.

Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced earlier in the day that Major General Ghasem Soleimani, the head of the IRGC elite Quds Force, and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, a commander in the PMF have been martyred in the US strike targeting their car.

Some news sources said earlier in the day that at least four rockets hit the airport.

The airport has been closed after the attack.
