Iran-Russia-China Marine Security Belt drills

Chabahar (IP) - The three Russian Navy vessels, Yaroslav Mudry frigate, the Elnya tanker, and the Viktor Konetsky tugboat are taking part in Iran-Russia-China joint naval drills.

Iran PressIran news: Russia has sent its three ships to join the trilateral naval exercises and maneuvers with China and Iran which is held at Chabahar port, codenamed 'Marine Security Belt' drill.

The three vessels, Yaroslav Mudry frigate, the Elnya tanker, and the Viktor Konetsky tugboat are taking part in the joint drills which commenced on Friday, 27 December 2019, and will further take place in the northern Indian Ocean, reiterated Russian defense minister, Iran Press reported.

During the drills, the sailors of the three countries will practice liberating a ship hijacked by "pirates" and other elements of maneuvers, establishing communications and providing assistance to a ship in distress.

It is also reported that the Chinese warship " 52D Xining" has been sailing there during the maneuver.

The aim behind the Iran-China-Russia trilateral drill is to maintain the security and stability of the region.   205/211
