Tehran (IP) - Iran's Secretary of Supreme National Security Council, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani said that reducing the country's nuclear deal commitments was started by Trump and followed by the European countries.

Iran PressIran news: "The US President Donald Trump is the beginner of reducing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) commitments, and it was followed by European countries; not the Islamic Republic of Iran," Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani stressed in an exclusive interview with Iran Press.

He went on to say: "Trump actually has trespassed three bulwarks by announcing withdrawal from JCPOA, "First, the United States had pledged to accept Iran's peaceful enrichment before starting the negotiations with Tehran during the presidency of US former president, Barack Obama. Second, what the United States pledged was written and approved in Iran's nuclear deal. And the last one, that commitment was endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2231."

"Thus, reducing Iran's nuclear deal commitments was started by Trump, while the Islamic Republic has shown patience," Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani added.

However, they have failed to launch a SWIFT."

He underlined: "In fact, Europe, by failing to fulfill its commitments regarding Iran's Nuclear Deal, was playing the main role for the second phase of reducing the JCOPA commitments by Iran."

Rear Admiral Shamkhani concluded his remarks by saying that four steps have already been taken, and if they do not fulfill their obligations, Iran will also take the fifth step." 207
