Iran Press/Iran news: Heading a parliamentary delegation, Ali Larijani will leave Tehran for Turkey on Saturday to attend the 12th General Assembly of the Asian Parliaments.
The Iranian parliament speaker will meet and talk with the Asian parliament speakers on the sideline of the Parliamentary General Assembly, Iran Press reported.
Delivering a speech at Mehrabad airport Pavilion, Larijani said: "The APA in recent decades has improved significantly in science, technology, and political issues."
He added: "In this trip, we try to connect the Asian countries by a decent approach, and it naturally would be a good opportunity to improve Iran's economy and discuss other cooperation and collaborative projects."
Larijani reiterated: "Good efforts have been made to boost commercial and security cooperation within the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA)."
It is worth noting that Majlis (Iranian Parliament) is the founder of the General Assembly of Asian Parliaments, the secretariat of which is based in Tehran.
As the largest assembly after the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) consists of 56 parliaments out of which 42 are permanent members and 14 are observers. 101/211/207
