Austrian Ambassador Stefan Scholz

Austrian Ambassador to the Islamic Republic in Tehran Stefan Scholz expressed his country's interest in developing relations at the national and provincial levels with Iran, saying that the countries are recognized as world cultural superpowers.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking at a meeting with political and economic deputies of the Governor-General of Kordestan Province on Wednesday, Scholz referred to Austria's small but strategic role in international affairs and said that Vienna is keen on preserving and continuation of the Iran nuclear deal and its partnership with Tehran in all areas.

He announced the creation of partnership projects at the national and provincial levels as two basic strategies of the Austrian Embassy in Tehran and went on to say that the embassy staff traveling to different provinces of Iran are exploring the capacity to develop relationships in all fields.

Scholz said the embassy's focus on provincial trips is on economic issues, noting that there are three areas of interest to be introduced in each province to help develop cooperation between the two sides.

The Austrian ambassador to Iran pointed to his respective country's impartial role in solving international issues and added that the history of Austria's diplomatic and continuous relations with Iran goes back to 160 years.

"We are eager that these relations would continue at a desirable level," he said.

He also emphasized the importance of having information about the capabilities and capacities of the Kordestan Province and said, "Economy is a two-way street and we would like to know what products are produced in this province that can be invested globally."
