Austrian Ambassador, Stefan Scholz

Austrian ambassador to Iran called relations between the two countries strategic and stated that high expectations of Iranian-Austrian cooperation have become a reality.

Iran Press/Iran news: In a ceremony marking Austria National Day in Ambassador resident in Tehran, Stefan Scholz, referring to the Vienna's hosting Iranian nuclear talks and P5 + 1 and said: "Austria strongly believes in the JCPOA and has repeatedly stated that the signatories must adhere to international treaties," reported Iran Press

"Although Austria regrets the US withdrawal from the treaty and the imposition of unilateral sanctions", the diplomat added, noting, "The commitment of the remaining countries in the JCPOA to maintain and foster broader economic ties with Iran was a reason behind launching a network of Tehran-Vienna partnerships which includes cooperation in urban rescue and relief operation and the creation of a renewable energy center for ECO-member states."

Scholz went on to say that the high expectations of Iranian-Austrian ties have now become clear, practical and turn to joint efforts from talking and words.

The Austrian ambassador to Iran also reiterated that soon with the Iranian partners, a strategic review of the bilateral cooperation framework after 2020 would begin.

According to him, now 10 areas of cooperation in the 6 ministries and the executive agencies of the parties will be reviewed.

The Austrian National Day was marked on Tuesday with the participation of Ali Akbar Salehi, Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization, and Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization.
