Tehran (IP) - Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Hossein-Ali Amiri has said Iran is ready to resolve human rights issues.

Iran Press/Iran news: On the sidelines of today's cabinet session headed by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, the Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Hossein-Ali Amiri answered questions from reporters. 

In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Hossein Ali Amiri referred to the recent exchange of prisoners between Iran and the United States, saying that, "One of the issues that have always been addressed in the Islamic Republic's system based on our religious teachings is the human relations and human rights issues irrespective of the person's religion or faith."

He added: "So the prisoner exchange was done on this basis and we are very glad that one of our scientists has returned home, and a foreign national who had been convicted in Iran, has been granted Islamic mercy and returned home."

He further noted, "This swap happened without any negotiation and as the authorities in the Islamic Republic of Iran have announced, Iran is ready to resolve such issues of human rights and human relations." 101/211/219
