Iran Press/Iran news: َIranian professors and academics have signed a petition calling for the release of Iranian scientist Massoud Soleimani from US custody.
Iranian professors and academics on Wednesday commemorate the passing of the Iranian scientist's mother in Tehran, Iran Press reported.
They also condemned the US human rights action regarding the arrest of the Iranian scientist. Iranian professors and academics also launched the hashtag #scientist held in prison on social media.
Masoud Soleimani, a full professor at Tehran's Tarbiat Modarres University and a prominent stem cell scientist, has been in US prisons for about 11 months now for no good reason.
The mother of the Iranian scientist, after hearing about her son's arrest by the US security forces, went into a coma seven months earlier, and she ultimately died on September 3.
