The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani

The secretary of the Supreme National Security Council confirmed that Iran has managed to thwart an enemy plan to attack the Asaluyeh oil and gas facilities.

Iran Press/Iran news"The attack on Asaluyeh was planned by the enemy," said Ali Shamkhani.

"The enemy appears to have been trying to retaliate Yemeni Ansarullah's UAV attack on Saudi Aramco oil facilities by sabotaging and attacking Asaluyeh facilities," he said.

This is while the government spokesman Ali Rabiei said on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting that enemy attempted to blow up the Asaluyeh oil pipeline but their plan was foiled.

The government decided on Friday, November 15, 2019, to cut gasoline subsidies to fund schemes for direct help to low-income and middle-income families.

On Saturday, November 16, President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker َAli Larijani and Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raisi convened a session of the Supreme Council of Economic Coordination and agreed that all state bodies should fully cooperate to implement the decision.

Following the decision, some cities in Iran have witnessed largely peaceful protests, but there have been instances of violent behavior by some rioters, such as destruction and burning of some public and private property.

However; the people all across Iran have been marching so far to voice their support of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and disgust with recent rioters' actions.205/219
