Tehran (IP)- A winner of Mustafa Prize, Ali Khadem ul-Hosseini stressed the importance of the award in an exclusive interview with Iran Press, emphasizing that the Mustafa prize brings together Muslim scientists from all over the world.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian professor of bioengineering, chemical engineering, and radiology at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles)  Ali Khadem ul-Hosseini said, "I think Mustafa Prize does a very good job trying to get Islamic scientists closer together". "Opportunities like these where scientists come together is very rare and I think that Mustafa prize has a very good opportunity to fill that void" he added.

Khadem ul-Hosseini further added, "It is the third time and so I'm hoping that as things develop it will become bigger and bigger and more established".

In the third round of Mustafa Prize ceremony coincided with the birthday of the Holy Prophet of Islam Mohammad (PBUH), on Monday, top 5 leading Muslim scholars were granted awards.

The laureates who were awarded the prize were Ali Khadem ul-Hosseini, Hossein Baharvand and Mohammad Abdolvand from Iran for their research studies respectively on nano-bio hydrogels, stem cells, and new ways of cancer diagnosis; and Oudgore Shahin and Imran Enan from Turkey for their research studies respectively on anti-cancer therapeutic vaccines and wave and particle interaction near earth.
