Tehran (IP) - Iran's Energy Minister said that the electric power industry plays an important role in developing cooperation with other neighbors and the region.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an interview with Iran Press on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the 19th Iran International Electricity Exhibition in Tehran on Thursday, Iran's Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said: "Considering the role of electricity in all aspects of development in different countries, our cooperation with Syria and also other regional countries is very important."

Ardakanian, accompanied by the Syrian Electricity Minister Mohammad Zouheir Kharboutli, said that Iran is constructing a 526 megawatts combined-cycle power plant in Latakia, Syria.

The 19th Iran International Electricity Exhibition (IIEE 2019) kicked off at Tehran’s Permanent International Fairground on Thursday.

The exhibition is being held for three days with the participation of foreign companies from Germany, Italy, China, Russia, France, Japan, Britain, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Turkey, Finland and Lebanon along with the Iranian companies presenting their products and services.
