Tabriz (IP)- Consul General of Turkey in the Iranian city of Tabriz said that Tehran and Ankara are two economic and trade partners.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Wednesday on the sidelines of a ceremony of the 96th-anniversary of the Turkish Republic Day, Huseyin Gungor said that Tehran and Ankara, apart from two economic and trade partners, are two reliable neighbors.

Gungor noted, "Iran and Turkey are bound together in terms of cultural, historical and artistic commonalities. Cooperation between the two countries will continue in every field."

"The value of Iran-Turkey trade is aiming to reach $30 billion, and in the future $50 billion a year," he added. 

Consul General of Turkey in Tabriz further added: "Iran has received considerable support from Turkey during US sanctions, so we hope that the cooperation between the two nations will increase more than ever."

The 96th anniversary of the Turkish Republic Day was celebrated in Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan Province, northwest of Iran.

In addition to municipal and provincial officials of Iran, and Turkish businessmen in East Azerbaijan attended this ceremony.
