In a message to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Hassan Rouhani congratulated his Turkish counterpart and the Turkish people on the occasion of Turkey's Independence Day.

Iran PressIran news: Rouhani in his message on Wednesday underlined that the developments in recent decade in the region and the prominent role played by both the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Turkish Republic in helping resolve issues indicate the two major neighbouring countries can play a vital role in ensuring peace, security, and stability of the countries in the region.

In a message addressed to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Hassan Rouhani congratulated him and the people of the country on the occasion of Turkey's Independence Day, Iran Press reported.

Fortunately, the historical, friendly and fraternal relations between the two nations of Iran and Turkey have always been growing, the president underscored.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff of the Iran Presidential office said among Iran's neighbours, Tehran has close and strategic relations with Turkey, stating that the target of the two countries' relations is to bring economic cooperation to $ 30 billion.

Mahmoud Vaezi on Wednesday evening at the 96th National Day of Turkey expressed congratulation to the Turkish government on behalf of the Iranian government and nation on the occasion of Turkey's National Day noting that Turkey is our good friend and neighbour.

The official went on to say that Iran and Turkey are two countries that have been living together peacefully for the past 400 years while sharing a border of about 500 kilometres.

And also Turkish ambassador to Tehran Derya Ors stressed that Ankara attaches great importance to relations with Tehran because of its great historical ties with Iran.

The Turkish diplomat said Wednesday evening at the 96th National Day of Turkey that Turkey has always had good relations with its neighbours and friends, and has drawn friends and frightened foes.
