Armed Attack in Iran\\\'s Sistan-Baluchestan Province

Unknown gunmen attacked a police post in the city of Sarbaz in Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan-and-Baluchestan.

Iran Press/Iran news: "The incident happened late Tuesday in Kalat region, and caused no injuries," Sarbaz city governor, Mohammad Anwar Bijarzahi said.

"Kalat region is in peace right now," Sarbaz city governor added according to Iran Press.

"The gunmen fled the scene before the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) and law enforcement forces reached the area, Bijarzahi noted.

"The motive and goals of the attack is still unknown, but there have been some movements in the region in the recent past to destabilize it," Bijarzahi said.

Bijarzahi went on to say: "The enemy wants to destabilize the southeastern province of Sistan-and-Baluchestan but with people's vigilance and awareness it won't achieve its objective." 

"Iranian people support the Islamic Revolution, and the government and nation are united so the enemy will not achieve its goal," Sarbaz city governor, Mohammad Anwar Bijarzahi concluded.

On Feb. 02, a terrorist attack on a military checkpoint in Iran's Sistan-and-Baluchestan Province, left one dead.
