Iran Press/ Europe: According to the statistics of Iranian Mines, Mining Industries Development, Renovation, known as IMIDRO, the world's steel production fell 6.1 percent in March, while it had dropped by 1.3 percent in the first three months of 2020, compared to the same period last year.
Turkey's steel production, Iran's regional rival, grew by 4.1 percent in March, while the Islamic Republic performed significantly in the region.
China, the world’s top steel producer, saw a decrease of 1.7 percentage in steel production despite a growing trend of 1.2 percent in the first three months of the year.
In its January 2020 report, the WSA announced that Iran's crude steel production has shown a 46.7 percent growth compared to its previous year's production in the same month, which was 20 times more than the world average of 2.1 percent.
China, India, Japan, the US, and Russia were the top five steel producers in January 2020, with 84,269,000; 9,228,000; 8,224,000; 7,707,000; and 6,000,000 tons, respectively.
