Johnson, 55, was taken to St Thomas’s Hospital in central London on April 5, suffering from persistent symptoms of the disease caused by the new coronavirus.
On April 6 he was moved into intensive care, where he remained until April 9.
The UK has the fifth-highest number of coronavirus fatalities of any country in the world at 9,875, according to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University, with 79,885 cases.
Number 10 has faced fierce criticism for its controversial policy to only test patients in the hospital, meaning only a fraction of cases are being spotted and leaving the true scale of the UK's outbreak a mystery.
The novel coronavirus, which was identified late last year (2019) in Wuhan, China, has now spread to all parts of the world.
According to the latest statistics, nearly 1.8 million people in the world have been infected with the virus, and the total number of deaths has neared 110,000.
