Iranian Foreign Ministry’s special assistant for Afghanistan affairs Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian and the governor of Nimruz province Seyyed Vali Sultan emphasized the expansion of border cooperation.

Iran PressAsia: At the end of his visit to Afghanistan on Thursday, Iranian Foreign Ministry’s special assistant for Afghanistan affairs Mohammad Ebrahim Taherian traveled to Afghanistan's Nimruz province and met with the governor to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation.

The governor of Nimruz Seyyed Vali Sultan, referring to the good relations between Nimruz province of Afghanistan and the eastern provinces of Iran, called for an increase in border exchanges up to twice the capacity.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman arrived in Kabul on Sunday and spoke with Afghan officials about the peace process, resolving the country's post-election political crisis, and developing relations between the two countries.

Iran and Afghanistan share a 950-kilometer border.
