Iran Press/ Asia: Professor Il?lber Ortayl? a Turkish historian and professor of history at the MEF University, was the guest of the event.
He said that Iranian cinema is a genuine, rooted and humane content that has an important place in the world.
The ceremony was held with a minute of silence to honor the victims of the Ukrainian passenger plane crash.
Iranian filmmaker and director, Abolhassan Davoudi, who was present at the event, said: "In recent decades, despite all the shortcomings and obstacles, Iranian cinema has created a language that has gradually grown and attracted worldwide attention."
"The Turkish director Reis Çelik also pointed to the role of culture and art in the sustainability of societies and said: "The code name of the sustainability of the Iranian people in critical times of the history is because of the original Iranian culture."
A lineup of 9 Iranian films will be played and reviewed with Turkish subtitles for the audience.
Iran’s Cultural Office in Istanbul organizes the festival in collaboration with the Beyoglu District Municipality.
