Iran Press/Asia: The talks between the foreign ministers of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif and Russia foreign minister Sergey Lavrov took place as the three European member states activated the dispute settlement mechanism yesterday. Zarif also called the Europeans' move as a strategic mistake at a meeting of a German diplomat who attended the Raisina Dialogue summit in New Delhi.
Resorting to the dispute resolution mechanism in the nuclear agreement was legally unfounded and politically a strategic mistake, he told German Minister of State of Federal Foreign Office 'Niels Annen' on the sidelines of a conference in New Delhi.
Zarif arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday on a 3-day visit to attend in the 5th edition of the annual Raisina Dialogue slated on January 14-16, 2020.
Addressing the meeting and holding talks with high-ranking attendees is on the agenda of Iran's top diplomat.
"Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, will deliver a speech at the Raisina Dialogue," according to the latest Tweets from Raisina Dialogue 2020.
The Iranian and Russian foreign ministers met in Moscow in early January. Zarif and Lavrov also had a telephone conversation following the Martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Qassim Suleimani.
Afghanistan National Security Adviser Hamdullah Moheb and German Federal Foreign Office Niels Annen were among other officials who met with Zarif in New Delhi. 212/ 101
