The 12th Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) hosted by Turkey's parliament speaker Mustafa Sentop kicked off with the presence of parliament speakers, parliamentary groups and observers from 42 countries including Iran in Antalya.

Iran Press/Asia: The first session was titled 'The Role of Multilateral Cooperation in the Asian Parliament'.

In the second session of the Executive Board of the Asian Parliament, the agenda will be set and the Presidency Council will be elected, Iran Press reported.

The head of the Turkish delegation to the APA, Asuman Erdogan will also present a report and Mohammad Reza Majidi, its secretary-general, will give a speech. The draft reports will be evaluated and will deliver to the General Assembly.

As the largest assembly after the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) consists of 56 parliaments out of which 42 are permanent members and 14 are observers.
