Iran Press/Asia: A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 on the Richter scale shook different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and parts of Pakistan's Punjab at 10 am today (Wednesday).

The severity of the earthquake caused panic and concern among people in different cities of this country, including Islamabad, and people came out of their homes.

According to Pakistani news channels, this earthquake occurred in the cities of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Swat, Lower Dir, Swabi, Mansehra, Peshawar, Abbottabad, and other areas. The state of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was fully felt.

The Pakistan Seismological Organization has declared the intensity of this earthquake to be 5.3 on the Richter scale and its depth is 220 km from the surface of the earth.

While the center of this earthquake has been declared in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan, there have been no reports of damage from this earthquake in Pakistan.204
