Golestan (IP) - Deputy Minister for Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Mohammad Hossein Talebian stressed the need to pay attention to 'smart tourism' amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

Iran PressIran news: Mohammad Hossein Talebian in an exclusive interview with Iran Press in Golestan, North-Eastern Iran, elaborated on the development of smart tourism amid the COVID-19 outbreak, saying: “The most important method will be holding smart exhibitions.”

Deputy Minister for Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism added that so far there had been some virtual exhibitions held whose continuity would be effective in developing smart tourism.

He also explained that one could hold a joint virtual exhibition through the contribution of other countries, adding that places that are difficult to access can provide smart and virtual tourism for tourists with live video coverage.

The cultural official said that open archeological sites can receive tourists during the time of the coronavirus disease by observing health protocols and social distance.

In general, with a combination of smart technology and popular behaviors, tourism can be expanded in various dimensions, so that the production of coronavirus vaccine will provide better conditions for the growth and dynamism of Iran's tourism industry, noted the deputy minister.
