Tehran (IP) - The Chief of Iran's Presidential Office says the recent helicopter crash is a technical nature issue and is being investigated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi along with Hojjatol-Islam Ale-Hashem Friday Prayers Imam of Tabriz, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Malek Rahmati, General Governor of East Azarbaijan, pilot, co-pilot, crew chief, head of the security team and one of the bodyguards and several other companions were on board on way from Tabriz, northwestern Iran, to Tehran when their helicopter crashed on Sunday, May 19, and all were martyred.

Gholam-Hossein Esmaili told Iran Press on Wednesday that the General Staff of the Armed Forces has released a series of primary information about the crash incident and would deliver detailed information in the due time and place. 

Esmaili referred to the coming presidential election and said that some cabinet members may participate as candidates in the election as it has been such in the previous terms. 

President Raisi and his colleagues were returning from the opening ceremony of an Iranian-Azerbaijani join dam project when their helicopter crashed.
