A Bahraini prominent Shia cleric and opposition leader said that Bahraini people never give up their Revolution against the foreign army attacks and live bullets.

Iran Press/Middle East: Sheikh Mohammad Khojasteh, an exiled member of opposition Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said: "Bahrain's people are patient and against disappointment; they will resist towards foreign armies' invasion against their country and will never give up from their principles and Revolution."

Sheikh Khojasteh in a speech before Tehran's Friday Prayer Sermons in occasion of the 8th anniversary of Bahrain's popular Revolution said: "People of Bahrain are follower of Imam Hossein (PBUH) and their Marja, Sheikh Isa Qassim is Imam Hossein's follower and believer."

"8 years ago, people of Bahrain staged a peaceful demonstration in Al-lau Lau roundabout and resisted against armies of Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan. Al Khalifa regime presumed that with such a massive crackdown, it can break people's will and destroy their dreams," Sheikh Khojasteh stated.

But foreign armies defeated because Bahrainis insisted on their peaceful Revolution, Shia cleric said.

"From 2011 to 2018, Al Khalifa courts convicted many activists who participated in a demonstration for defending freedom of speech and peaceful demonstration. Al-Khalifa regime arrested more than 15,000 oppositions. More than 5,000 people have been tortured in prisons.1700 children have been arrested. More than 5000 people injured by security forces in peaceful protests," Sheikh Khojasteh reiterated.

He said: "From the beginning of Bahrain Revolution, Al Khalifa actions in political, economic and legal affairs led to recession of stability, peace and calmness in the country and in other hand, corruption increased in Al Khalifa regime. Abuse of Freedom and civil freedom in Bahrain now are in the worst situation.

Prominent exiled member of Bahraini opposition Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society said: "According to Global Peace Index, Bahrain government grade in internal peace decreased to rate 130 among the world countries. This index for Bahrain in 2016 was worse than Libya and Yemen ratings. Also, Bahrain in the scale of Press Freedom is the worst country in the Arab world in 2018.

Since February 14, 2011, Bahraini people have been holding peaceful protest rallies on an almost daily basis, demanding that the Al Khalifah family relinquish power and let a just system representing all people be established.

They have also been complaining about widespread discrimination against the Shia majority in the kingdom.

Manama has responded to the protests with lethal force, drawing international criticism. 205/103
