Iran Press/Iran news: Vietnam performed ably up until this point, but were undone by a sweeping move from Carlos Queiroz’s men, with the moves ending with Sardar Azmoun, who made no mistake in putting the ball at the back of the net.
Vietnam hoped to find an equalizer and get back into the game but it wasn't to be, and the Iranian team made it impossible with a flawless play, Iran Press reported.
A Sardar Azmoun double against Vietnam ensured Iran clinched their place in the last 16 of the Asian Cup on Saturday.
The three-time continental champions were rarely troubled by their South-East Asian rivals in the Group E clash at Al Nahyan Stadium.
Iran's patient buildup play was rewarded with Sardar Azmoun directing a header past Vietnam goalkeeper Dang Van Lam after 38 minutes.
