Iranian envoy: Europe a safe haven for terrorist groups

Iran’s permanent envoy to Vienna-based international organizations, said that Europe has turned into a safe haven for terrorists groups.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iran’s permanent envoy to Vienna-based international organizations, Kazem Gharibabadi said that Europe has turned into a paradise and safe haven for MKO (Mujahedeen Khalq Organization) and terrorists who have assassinated thousands of Iranian citizens, Mehr News Agency reported.

He reiterated: “As Europe has turned into a safe haven for MKO and other terrorist groups, Iran’s criticism of sanctions imposed against the country is a completely unacceptable and deviational move in its responsibility.”

According to the unfounded and baseless claims, Danish government recently imposed sanctions on one Iranian institution and two entities, the issue of which was strongly condemned by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Gharibabadi observed.

Some European countries including Denmark, the Netherlands and France harbored terrorist groups and helped former Iraqi President Saddam Hussain for committing heinous crimes against Iraqi Kurds, Iran’s permanent envoy to Vienna-based international organizations emphasized.

In this regard, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghassemi strongly condemned the EU act yesterday and said: “Islamic Republic of Iran will adopt appropriate measure in response to this move within the framework of mutual action.”

The MKO was once listed as a terrorist organization in the US and Europe and is still widely viewed as a Marxist cult built around the personality of its ringleader, Maryam Rajavi.

Some of its uncouth practices include forcing the group's male members to divorce their wives and have them married to Rajavi's husband Massoud.

The terrorist group is also known for its extremely oppressive control over members in its camps where access to the Internet and other information sources is prohibited.
