Brazilian Police clash with people protesting pension reforms in Sao Paulo.

Iran PressAmerica: The violence broke out on Wednesday as protesters tried to storm the Senate building in the major Brazilian city by destroying its gate. Police then fired rubber bullets to disperse the angry crowd.

President-elect Jair Bolsonaro plans to overhaul the pension system in the Latin American country, RT reported.

The Sao Paulo City Council had earlier approved the pension reform targeting municipal employees, with 33 votes in favor and 17 against.

The legislation is set to increase the minimum retirement age by two years, meaning men would retire after 37 years of contribution and women after 32. 105/210
