Iranian President, in a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of Republic of Azerbaijan, Ogtay Asadov on Tuesday, described the two countries relations as friendly and brotherly.

Iran Press/Iran news: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the meeting referred to the friendly, brotherly relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, and stressed development of comprehensive relations between Tehran and Baku, accelerating implementation of agreements between the two countries.

Iranian President said: “Fortunately, relations between the two countries in recent years have been boosted and today, we are witnessing close cooperation and relations between Tehran and Baku.”

Rouhani added: “Close ties between authorities of the two countries has resulted in development of relations and cooperation between Tehran and Baku.”

“Because its culture and religion is very similar to Iran, the Republic of Azerbaijan is one of the closest countries to Iran and we have had good relations with the country since its independence,” continued the President.

President Rouhani also said cooperation between Tehran and Baku is developing in many different fields, such as industry, pharmaceuticals and science and technology. He added: “Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic took an important decision for using energy resources in the Caspian Sea”.

“I hope that with the efforts of the authorities of the two countries, we witness faster implementation of agreements, because this is a win-win agreement, benefiting both nations,” Iranian President Hassan Rouhani continued. 211/104
