Tehran(IP)- Regarding the recent news and comments published about the relations between Tehran and Cairo, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran said that the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to develop relations with its neighbors and Islamic countries.

Iran Press/Iran news: Since the 13th government of Iran took office on August 3, 2021, by announcing the establishment of balance in foreign policy, expanding cooperation with neighbors and countries in the region has been prioritized in its foreign programs.

The policy of regionalism, looking to the east, participation in regional and extra-regional organizations and institutions such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organziation and the ECO Economic Cooperation Organization are examples of balancing Iran's foreign policy, which is followed by the 13th government.

According to Iran press; Nasser Kanani, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran is responsible for the implementation of foreign policy and is the only official authority to announce positions and express opinions regarding the Islamic country's foreign relations.

Kanaani added that one should not act on the basis of speculation and as Iran has stated many times before, it is determined to develop relations with its neighbors and Islamic countries.

Earlier, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian while welcoming the development of relations between Tehran and Cairo, expressed his hope that due to the foreign policy of the 13th administration, there will be a serious opening in the relations between Iran and Egypt.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, said that the interests sections of the two countries are active in Tehran and Cairo, and at the head of these offices there is an ambassador-level person from both sides. Therefore, there is an official channel for contact and communication directly between Iran and Egypt.

Amir- Abdollahian stated that, of course, some countries have made efforts to encourage Egypt and the Islamic Republic of Iran to improve the relations between the two countries.
