Iran's deputy interior minister responsible for social affairs, and the chairman of the organisation for social affairs, Taghi Rostamvandi, has said more emphasis should be put on the social health of the nation, since this is the key to preventing social harms and social ills from occurring.

Iran news/ In an interview with Iran Press on Sunday, Iran's deputy interior minister responsible for social affairs Taghi Rostamvandi, said in the recent (supreme) social council meeting attended by president Rouhani, a national document on the psychological health of the nation was presented, and it was decided at that meeting to draw up a document on the policies relating to social health of the nation.

"Today we have started a preliminary review of these policies on social health, and God willing, this trend (process) will continue in the future."

"In our country, public discussion of social harms and vulnerabilities is quite common, but following the new policies, we must shift this to a public discussion about the social health of the nation.  

Rostamvandi added: "We must put more emphasis on social health, and a public discussion of social health, and this must be given priority because this is the key to preventing social ills and social harms from occurring in our society."

Rostamvandi's remarks came on the sidelines of the first official meeting on formulating a document over social health, on Sunday. 203/211/103.
