The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force, has emphasized that although Iran’s military strategy is based on the principle of deterrence, it is offensive at an operational and tactical level.

Iran Press/Iran news: Speaking to reporters and journalists on the sidelines of a massive war game in southern Iran on Saturday, Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour said the military exercises were very successful, since we reached all the objectives that we had set for the war game.

Brigadier General Pakpour added as we have said earlier, our core principles and doctrine are defensive in nature, but at an operational and tactical level, they are offensive.

The senior IRGC commander also said, the best defense is offense and when the enemy has ill-intentions against our country we should attack it because our deterrence factor would be the same offense.

The final stage of the 12th 'Great Prophet' military exercises started on Saturday in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Island of Qeshm.

The drill was attended by various military units of the IRGC Ground Force, including combat troops, engineering units, and electronic warfare units.

Medium-range missiles were tested in the war games, and the Zolfaghar naval brigade from the IRGC Navy also attended the drill. 105 / 211
