Iranian Foreign Minister held talks on Sunday with his Belarussian counterpart over a broad range of issues of cooperation in political, economic, scientific, cultural, and consular areas.

Iran PressIran News: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Sergei Aleinik discussed regional and international issues as well as cooperation between Tehran and Minsk in regional and international organizations.

Amir-Abdollahian referred to agreements reached by the two countries, particularly in the economic fields. He called for speeding up the implementation of those deals in order to boost trade transactions, execute joint industrial projects and engage in transportation and transit cooperation between the two countries.

The Belarussian foreign minister for his part pointed to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s experience in fighting illegal sanctions and called on Tehran to share that experience with Minsk.

Sergei Aleinik also spoke about the rising trend of trade between Iran and Belarus and said his country is interested in using Iran’s railroad infrastructure to transport its goods to international markets.

The two top diplomats stressed the need to facilitate consular services for businesspeople and transit drivers of Iran and Belarus.
