Turkiye (IP) - Iranian Karatekas managed to win the vice-championship title of the Karate 1-Series A event of the 2023 season.

Iran PressAsia: In the competitions held in Konya, Turkiye, 136 Karatekas from 76 countries went on the tatamis for three days from March 10 to 12. 

Achieving 2 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals, the Iranian karatekas stood in second place in the international sports event.

Shima Al Sa'adi in +68 kg and Alireza Akbari in -84 kg weight categories snatched gold medals; Amir Mahdizadeh in -68 kg and Hannaneh Salehi in +68 kg weight categories along with the women's team kata accomplished bronze medals.

Hamid-Reza Esmaili and Abdollah Valadi in -67 kg and Mahdi Shahgol in -75 kg weight categories along with the men's team kata won bronze medals. 

Turkiye with 4 gold, 3 silvers, and 6 bronze medals stood first and Japan stood third with 2 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
