Turkiye (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister appreciated the due rescue operation and medical services provided by the Iranian Red Crescent to the Turkish people after the huge earthquake that took thousands of lives.

Iran PressAsia: On the sidelines of his visit to the Adiyaman city of Turkiye on Wednesday, Hossein Amir-Adollahian said: "I appreciate the Red Crescent of the Islamic Republic of Iran for sending the first teams to these areas on time and managing to rescue a number of people alive from under the rubble."

The Red Crescent and the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran carried out timely and effective search, rescue, and assistance operations, including the establishment of clinics and provision of medical services to the quake-hit people of Turkiye. 

A magnitude 7.8 tremor in southeastern Turkey early on Monday, February 6, followed by magnitude 7.6 earthquake jolted southern Turkiye and northern Syria. More than 46,000 people lost their lives in Turkiye.

Iran established an aiding camp in Adiyaman of Turkiye, providing the people with medical services.
