Iran Press/ Asia: Iran Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has traveled to Ankara to visit the earthquake-affected areas of Türkiye and to hold talks with the officials of the country.
In a press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt ÇavuşoğluI, Amir- Abdollahian, once again expressed his condolences for the Turkish nation and the deaths of a number of citizens of the country in the earthquake and stated: "Since the early hours of the earthquake, the Leader of the Revolution and the president of Iran issued strict orders to help the Muslim people of Türkiye."
He said that the two sides (Tehran and Ankara) have discussed boosting business transactions in terms of their volume as well as boosting costumes cooperation and transit ties.
Iran considers Türkiye's security as its own security
Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs went on to say that the country considers Türkiye's security as its security and added: "Tehran believes that terrorism is not good or bad, but terrorism in any form is a sinister phenomenon."
He also said: "Security cooperation in the fight against terrorism between the two countries is at a high level, and we consider the right of Iran and Türkiye to legitimate defense against any terrorist act from any direction and by any group within the framework of international law."
Amir-Abdollahian stressed: "Fighting against terrorism from the Kurdistan region of Iraq and Afghanistan is our common concern."
Women; strongest part of Iranian society
In the press conference, Amir-Abdollahian also congratulated the arrival of International Women's Day and said: "Women in the Islamic Republic of Iran are the strongest part of the society."
